  • What are Microgreens?
Microgreens are tiny, young greens of vegetables, herbs or fruit. They are about one to three inches tall and can be extremely delicious and aromatic. Microgreens may be itty bitty, however, because of their size, these tiny greens are packed with the essential nutrients required by the body. You can grow microgreens at home or purchase at a shop, such as Diggin Roots n' Shoots 😎
  • What is the difference between a sprout and a microgreen?
Microgreens are harvested later than sprouts and come without roots while sprouts do have them. Sprouts & microgreens all mark a stage of a plant's growth for when they can be harvested & eaten. The common difference between them two is that they are all harvested before the plant is fully developed.
  • Are microgreens really 40x more nutritious than their adult counterparts?
Absolutely! Researchers have looked into the nutritional value of microgreens vs the adult counterparts & they have found them to be highly nutritious & can help with our health.
  • How long do my microgreens last and how do I keep them fresher for longer?
Micrgreens can spoil quckly, but when stored properly, they normally can last from one to two whole weeks. What we have found to allow for a fresher and longer stay of our microgreens, is to use a Keep it Fresh produce bag. This generally maintains the product for a much longer time frame. Especially when the product is kept in a cool, dry environment. Also, adding a paper towel in the container, also helps maintain the product for longer, because it keeps the excess moisture out.
  • How do I store & clean my Microgreens?
Be sure to keep the container your microgreens is in refrigerated and sealed to maintain freshness. Rinse lightly in cold water and let dry before eating, please be aware some types of microgreens, such as the sunflower & cantaloupe may still contain seed hulls due to the harvesting.
  • How do I suggest a new microgreen, I would like to order?

  • What is vermicompost?
Vermicompost is the solid material or product of decomposition left after worms have eaten all the organic matter in a mixture of decomposing vegetable & soil bedding. This process is called vermicomposting.
  • How will the vermicompost & or Tea help my indoor or outdoor plant(s)?
Vermicompost contains water-soluble nutrients. It is a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer & soil conditioner in a form that is relatively easy for plants to absorb. Because the earthworms grind & mix minerals in simple forms, plants need only minimal effort to obtain them. The worms' digestive systems create environments that allow certain species of microbes to thrive to help create a "LIVING" soil environment for plants. Unlike other compost, worm castings also contain worm mucus which helps prevent nutrients from washing away with the first watering and holds moisture better than plain soil. Increases in the total nitrogen content in vermicompost, an increase in available nitrogen & phosphorus, a decrease in potassium, as well as the increased removal of heavy metals from sludge & soil have been reported. Vermicompost can be mixed directly into the soil or mixed with water to make a liquid fertilizer known as worm tea. It is an all-natural liquid fertilizer that is made from water & worm castings. Because the vermicompost is in liquid form, the nutrients will reach the plant faster.
